Bah, I hate even posting this, but I must.
I went to Walmart yesterday. That's right.
We were pricing out trampolines for the kids (a battle Sam and I have been waging for years and I am finally triumphant!), and we had to check Walmart. Because, as much as I hate Walmart, I do love a deal more and Walmart is full of deals.
While we were there we noticed a TON of the 4, 5 and 6 gallon buckets for storing food in their canning aisle. Decent prices too, better than most places I've looked at. Also, this is a great time to buy their canning jars and lids, prices seemed to be lower than in the summer.
Also, the clearance is fantastic right now. I got a vacuum for my bathroom (the one with the cat litter box and yes, it is only for that room. blech) for under $20!
So, there you go, Walmart and deals in one sentence.
Now to wash the shame off of me...

I can't say that I have ever seen walmart carry buckets in the canning section. Must be a regional thing????
Do you have an Item number/barcode number so that I can call our walmart before making a trek out to the store?
